Praecitrullus fistulosus or commonly called Tinda is green ball-shaped vegetable which is found in northern part of India during monsoon. It is also known as apple gourd or baby pumpkin. It is sweet to taste and gives odour similar to papaya.
Tinday can be consumed raw as well as cooked. Dietary intake of Tinday helps regulating immune system and prevents human from heart-diseases. It also aids in improving digestion of the body and cuts down fat when consumed raw.
Do not over-cook apple gourd in order to maintain its nutritional value.
