Jackfruit is a green elliptical shaped vegetable with rough pointed surface on the cover. It has white or yellow healthy flesh inside which is edible. Jackfruit comes from family Moraceae. Botanical name for this vegetable is Artocarpus heterophyllus and commonly called kathal in Hindi. Sometimes it is simply called jak or jack. The vegetable is available all across India.
